Corporate retreats: time together by the lake.

In one photograph from an earlier Inspire gathering, a group has come together on the beach, with the lake behind them. It is a simple scene, and a useful place to begin thinking about a retreat: who would you bring, and what would you like to have time for together?

Inspire’s original business-retreat programme was built around that question. It paired private use of the resort and two nights in the cabins with shared meals and time to plan. It also made space for the parts of a gathering that do not fit neatly into a meeting agenda: a conversation by the fire, a paddle on the lake, or a slower breakfast before the day begins.

A reason to get the team together

A corporate retreat might begin with a decision you have been putting off. It might be a planning session for the next year, a chance to bring key clients together, or time to recognise the people who have carried the business through a busy season.

Those were all part of the thinking behind Inspire’s original corporate-events offering. The starting point was the purpose of the gathering; the programme could then be shaped around the people coming.

For a small team, that is still a practical way to plan. Choose one or two things you want to work through. Give them enough time. Then leave room for people to talk without another presentation waiting to begin.

Working time, with room around it

The earlier business-planning programme paired working sessions with meals and time outdoors. Its suggested setting for a conversation was sometimes a fire pit beside the beach. Kayaks and paddle boards offered another way to spend a break together.

For your own retreat, an agenda could follow a similar rhythm: a focused morning discussion, lunch together, an afternoon with some breathing room, and dinner without a rush to get back to the office. The exact activities, catering and arrangements should be agreed with the Inspire team for your dates.

Bring Harry and Sarah into the conversation

The original programme also introduced the Inspire Speaking Sessions, hosted by resort founders Harry James and Sarah Larbi. For a group interested in adding a founder-led session, it is something to ask about when planning the retreat.

Tell the team what you would like to explore and who will be in the room. That gives the conversation a clear starting point, with the session’s format and availability to be confirmed as part of your plans.

What the Lodge adds for 2026

The Inspire Lodge & Suites is under construction beside the three cabins, with its grand opening planned for November 1, 2026. It will add a four-season indoor gathering space and suites on the water.

For corporate groups, that means a planned indoor home for retreat sessions, workshops and long-table dinners, with additional accommodation alongside the cabins. It also creates room for gathering through the colder months and a place to come together when the weather changes.

The Lodge is not open yet. If you are considering a retreat around or after the planned opening, ask the team to confirm the spaces, accommodation and arrangements available for your dates before you finalise your plans.
